Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

The heyday of the housing market is over.If you were smart enough and were able to get in quickly and then get out you most likely made good money.A lot of people did.But also there were many people who lost money. Those that didn’t get in and out quick enough.

But if you are your typical homeowner who is in a position where you need to sell now. What is there to do?  In other words, homes don’t sell as fast as they used to.Quite a few homes are spending a lot of time on the market months or even years.Well I have a few tricks to help fix that.  I have seen it works first hand from my clients running my San Diego painting contractors

What you have to do is make your house look better than all the rest. Remember when the housing market was going strong anything sold.  Even if it was ugly.  Today that isn’t the case.  If you don’t want your home to get stuck on the market forever be better than everybody else.Buyers can now be very fickle.  They will want the best.  So give it to them.By performing some simple improvements on your home such as painting your house it will do just that.

Obviously you don’t want to do the painting yourself. You are able to, but keep in mind your goal is to give them the best.So go ahead and find a good painting contractor with a good painting company. You should be able to tell who are the good contractors after you talk with them.Asking the right questions will give you a lot of good information.  You will want to find a good painters in San Diego. There are quite a few disreputabale companies around. You don’t want that when you want a good house painting job.

Once you are able to locate a solid contractor you will want to tackle the inside of the house.  Bu don’t forget the outside of the house.  If you also paint the outside of the house you can make it look beautiful. If it beautiful on the outside that alone can sell the house.Don’t forget that it will be what they see first.

Follow these few words of advice and you won’t have a house stuck on the market that doesn’t sell.  If you are in my neck of the woods, you can find good painting in San Diego with my company. You will be happy you did.

Follow these 6 Simple Steps When Painting Your House

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

One of the simplest and best ways to not only improve the look of your home but the value as well is painting. Even though is seems easy, it is by far one of the best improvements you can do to your home.  In this economy, anything you can do to improve the value of your home is worth doing.

So here are 6 easy steps to painting your house right.  These steps come from my experience in being a painters San Diego.   So it should be beneficial and of use to doing the job correctly.

Owning a painting San Diego company has helped me prove these steps over and over again.  So follow the steps outlined here and watch your home improve in value and turn into a beauty.

First step in this process is the preparation of the surface.  Unless your house has been through a war, there shouldn’t be too much preparation.  All you have to do is make sure it is smooth and sanded if necessary.

Second step is priming.  This is an easy stage and the main goal is to use a primer that is tinted close to the finish color.  This makes the job of applying the finish color much easier.

Third step is to prepare the surface once more.  This step is used to make sure you haven’t missed anything from the first go around.  Things like holes caused by nails, or any other blemishes like dents in the wall.  You are going to be using a drywall compound to have those holes filled.

Fourth step is to begin applying that first coat of paint.  In this step you are going to want to paint one wall surface at a time.

Fifth step to follow will be preparing the surface once again.  You are doing this to check over the surface one last time to make sure it is smooth prior to the last coat of paint.  So again, any blemishes you discover can be fixed easily with a drywall compound.

Final step will be the application of the second coat of paint.  This is going to be the best part because your hard work will now all come together for you to see.  So once again, apply and finish one surface wall at a time.  Ensure that the coat is evenly distributed.

Follow these 6 steps completely and you will be pleasantly surprised on the outcome of your house painting.  A beautiful coat of paint can turn a drab and dreary room into a beautiful new looking room.

With the low cost it takes to do a simple paint job of a room, the return on investment is huge.  I have seen it firsthand add thousands to the value of the home in my San Diego painting company.   This simple paint job can adds tens of thousands of dollars to the value of your home.

Painting Your Home as an Investment not an Expense

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

In this time of economic uncertainty, most people have to cut back on expenses. One of the big things they won’t do is home improvements.

In a good economy improvements to the house abounds. Contractors are happy and busy with work. But when the economy goes south, you feel it in businesses that are in contracting.

But I would like to mention that when you paint your house in this economy, it is actually a great use of your money.  I should know living in San Diego where you can definitely feel the housing slump, painting San Diego houses definitely helps.

Lets examine some of the reason why. Two ways to look at it are if you are going to sell your house or plan on keeping it.

If you have plans of selling the home, doing some house painting is a wise move economically. With the crash of the housing market, and falling values of homes, most homes won’t sell fast. The ones that are going to sell fast are the ones that look good.  Buyers are picky and they wait for what they want.

Well if you invest in hiring a painter, this will actually not only improve the value of your home it also makes it look better.A home that is beautiful and clean will definitely sell a lot faster than a house with no improvements.

So by getting that professional painter to make your house look good in and out, that expense actually turns into a good investment.

Now if you don’t plan on selling, what could be the benefits of doing some painting? Homeowners always want a nice house to live in.  In an economy where there is less money to spend, painting is usually the least expensive home improvement
I have seen this first hand as a painter San Diego.

A fresh coat of paint makes your house look brand new. Do it for inside your house as well as outside and you create a great place to live.

When you can’t afford to spend on that room addition painting is a great option.

When you can’t afford to remodel the bathroom or kitchen, you can make that room look new with a fresh coat of paint.

In these bad economic times, most of the time you aren’t going to be able to do what you want with your home.  Hiring painters San Diego contractors gives you that flexibility to still improve your home with little costs.

Why you have to find the right painting contractor

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

One of the most precious assets we will ever posess will be our homes.I am not referring to the financial aspect. That is a huge part of it.  But what I am referring is the fact that it is your home.It is the place in which you live.It is where your family grow up.  It is a place where you are going to have many fond memories.

With that being the case, naturally people take great effort to care for it.  From home improvements, to just keeping it clean.  One of the biggest things a family can do to their home is paint it.  I know it is a big deal to families from my experience running my own San Diego painting contractor company.

With that being the case it is extremely important to choose the right painter.A good painter can make all the difference in the world. And when it concerns dealing with one of your most prized assets, I am positive that you would think it is important as well.

So what is it that makes a painting contractor good?  Well from my experience painting San Diego it is a few things.

First you have to be able to rely upon them.Nobody wants to have an unreliable person working for them that you can’t trust to do the job right. From things being done in a timely manner. To showing up to do the job everyday.Hard to comprehend, but there will be a few people who you can hire that you
just can’t rely upon.

Second, does the person have an artisitic flair. You might be thinking does that have any relation with anything. I say plenty.  Of course I am biased considering my crew of painter San Diego are like artists.Reason I mention this is because you do not want
somebody who just slaps paint on the walls. You want to find a person who treats every work like it is an art form.

If you do locate a person like that, you will be very pleased. A simple painting job can turn a once plain and boring room into a vibrant room that comes alive. You can transform that old house into one that is model home quality.

Finally, you want to find somebody that truly cares about his work. How willy you be able to tell?  Easy, just interview contractors. You will be able to see just who is out for the money between those that reall want to serve you and do a good job. Those that have that attitude of service you can trust to do a good job.

Follow these few tips and make sure to hire a good painter.  You won’t be disappointed.

Secrets to House Painting

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

The most popular project for a lot of homeowners
is painting their house.  A lot of people enjoy do it yourself projects around the house. To them, doing a little painting of the house seems easy enough.

If that is you, I would like to offer as a Painter in San Diego.  My years of experience hopefully will help you avoid the disasters and messes that can occur when you take on a project like painting your house.

First, you want to make sure the correct type of paint is chosen with the right paint color.  Sounds like this goes without saying, but a novice may not know the difference in picking paint for an exterior vs. paint for the inside of the house.  Thankfully a lot of home improvement companies have helpful staff to help you out, just like my staff of my San Diego painting company.

Second, is paint preparation.Surprisingly, the biggest part of your paint job is not actually doing the painting, sometimes it is the preparation.

The time you invest in properly preparing will show in the quality of your paint and painting job.

So you have to have the room you are going to paint in cleaned out.A clear and clean room makes it that much easier to do a good job of painting.

Also, you need to clean the surface when you prepare.Don’t just say to yourself, since you are painting over everything, the paint will hide it all.  A dirty wall with stains or more will make it harder for the paint to cover. This little tip can save you a lot of time and money because when it is clean you need less coats of paint.

A third need to have item is sandpaper.Sandpaper allows you to smooth out the rough surfaces which makes it easy to apply a smooth coat of paint.

Fourth, you will want a caulk gun.  All walls are not perfect. It could have cracks on the wood base or trim.A caulking gun will help cover things up and make the surface smooth.

As you can see, these tips are all designed to help make your painting job go well.It helps get rid of the hassles associated with things being in the way.Or having to fix a wall that has blemishes and would need to be painted over. All with the goal of making it an easier job.

Do all this and not only will you be pleased in the outcome but a good quality job will add value to your home.

Now if it becomes apparent that this job is too much to handle, especially when you think about the fact your home value is on the line. Give your local painting San Diego company a call.
